I had a great stay at Tamara Riverside Lodge! I was warmly welcomed by Rory and Max, who provided excellent advice throughout my trip. The team, including Heather and the French girl who played piano, were friendly and efficient. The kitchen was well-equipped and the TV room was comfortable. The location was ideal, with a beautiful view of the river and easy access to the city. The back garden was secluded and peaceful, perfect for relaxation. a fantastic place to stay.
I highly recommend this hotel.

Nice old style wooden building, 2 bed bunk room, close to river, lovely garden, friendly manager, free bicycles.
There was nothing I didn't like.

The facilities were top-notch, and the staff was super friendly. We had a blast exploring Whanganui, especially spending time at the awesome skate park and hitting up the local bowling alley. Everything was so chill and laid-back, perfect for a cool teenage hangout.
The only thing that could've made our stay even more awesome would be if there was a sick rooftop party area with a DJ and dance floor. It would've been the ultimate place for us party-loving teens to have a wild time and make some unforgettable memories.

Yo, our stay at the lodge was lit AF! First off, the staff was super chill and gave us the lowdown on all the cool spots in Whanganui. We hit up the sick balcony, sippin' on sundowners while peepin' the sick river view. The kitchen was legit, had all the gear we needed to whip up some dank meals. Plus, the location was on point - everything we wanted to check out was in walking distance. And the vibe was mad friendly, making it easy to meet new peeps and have a good time.
The only bummer was tryna get our key deposit back early in the morning. We had talked to the staff the night before and they said it was cool, but when we tried to bounce, nobody was up to give us our cash back.

Had a great Christmas stay, close to town and the riverside walk. Lovely gardens and outdoor seating. the kitchen was one of the best equipped we've come across in backpacker accommodation. the rooms were spacious and clean with comfy beds, really nice decor and we particularly liked the guitar in the common area.
Parking was a bit limited, but as we hadn't requested off-street parking it was understandable. Only slight drawback was the heating in the room, it could have been warmer, but with the extra blankets it wasn't an issue.

The facilities were clean, tidy and with great amenities, from the well-stocked kitchen to the comfortable TV room with a piano and guitar. The location was amazing, with beautiful views of the river and easy access to transportation. my stay was affordable and comfortable. Highly recommended!
Can't fault anything about it - this hotel provided an excellent experience that exceeded all my expectations.

Had a fantastic New Year's Eve experience! The location was perfect, close to the CBD and restaurants. Our room had a stunning view of the river and was quite spacious. I particularly enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen facilities, perfect for cooking our own meals. We were also grateful for the friendly and welcoming staff who provided us with useful information about the area.
The room had a stale smell that lingered throughout our stay. there were not enough power outlets, and the ones available were either being used for the light or the heater.

The accommodation was absolutely amazing, with crispy clean sheets and a super comfy bed. Having a separate room with a private bathroom was mind-blowing! Rory and Max, the hosts, were incredibly friendly and helpful, offering jaw-dropping advice as soon as we arrived. The team, including Heather, the cheerful helper, and the talented French pianist, made our stay even more enjoyable. The kitchen was well stocked and the TV room had a great selection of movies. The location was fantastic, with a gorgeous river view and a beautiful suntrap garden with hammocks. We loved the spacious twin room with the private bathroom and even had two chairs. Thanks to the hosts' recommendation, we had a delicious breakfast at the local market. Plus, the free wi-fi, car park, and outdoor dining area added to the overall incredible experience.

The surroundings of the accommodation are stunning, with a beautiful river view and a lovely suntrap garden to relax in. the room is comfortable, and the bed is one of the most comfortable that I have slept in. the private bathroom is spacious and immaculately clean, with everything that I need for a comfortable stay.
The car park only has space for a few cars, which might end up being a problem for many travelers.

Wow, the suite at Tamara Riverside Lodge was like a cozy home away from home. The room decor was super charming, with a comfy bed and soft pillows that made me feel instantly relaxed. I loved the little touches like fresh flowers and a personalized welcome note. It made me feel so special!
In all honesty, I wasn't a big fan of the bathroom layout. It felt a bit cramped and the shower was a little tricky to navigate.
